Sailing Log: Cruising Central Caribbean Islands

Northbound Cruising Central Caribbean Islands - Dominica, Marie Galante, Guadeloupe.

Dominica Shaded Beach

Dominica

Log#: 247
LatLon: 15°34.756'N 061°27.582'W

During this visit to Dominica, we stopped only in one place - Prince Rupert Bay. Filled our water tanks, walked around Portsmouth town, hiked a little, cooked fish from the local fish market...

During our previous visit we took an Indian River tour - it was well worth it.

We had fond memories during out last stay at Marie Galante, so we decided to make a small detour to this less visited island again.

Hoped for the good weather, but got caught in an unexpected wind change and a squall. Still, we had another memorable stay, on another secluded beach.

Point A Pitre Guadeloupe

Guadeloupe

Log#: 249
LatLon: 16°13.614'N 061°32.011'W

On our way North, we visited again several places in Guadeloupe - Sainte Anne, Point-A-Pitre, short stop near Basse Terre and check out at Deshaies.

Stayed couple of lazy weeks at the protected harbour near Point-A-Pitre / Marina Bas Du Fort, waiting for strong winds to pass. Explored the area, watched cruiseships pass by and cargo ships unload.

Point-A-Pitre has one of the best fresh produce and fish markets we've seen on the islands. We also unexpectedly ended up at the night carnival there.
